It’s Dad’s Day!

The first Father’s Day was celebrated in 1910 in Washington, but it wouldn’t become a national holiday until 1972—58 years later after President Woodrow Wilson declared Mother’s Day official. Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June; in 2018, it falls on June 17th. This weekend, we’ll honor the men we call Dad, Father, Papa, and more. Father’s Day is a day to say “thank you” and to share experiences and activities together to make lasting memories. It can be challenging to figure out how to make Dad’s day special. There are so many classic ideas come to mind such as cook-outs, fishing, a walk through the park or a hike through the woods, bowling, ties, hats, and sporting events. But what if we create a new tradition with Dad? Here are some fun ways to celebrate Dad in addition to just getting him “stuff”.

Take to the Course

Dad will golf free this Sunday the 17th at our beautifully designed miniature golf course with the purchase of a child’s admission. Together you can conquer our water features, divots, and moguls and putt your way to victory! Our course is meticulously constructed and provides information about each of the plants, trees, and shrubs that decorate the course. Find something Dad likes? Write it down on the back of your scorecard and go shopping for it after your game! No outing would be complete without a stop at the end of your round at Kallie’s Kones for some fantastic, well-deserved ice cream!

Make Things Easy and Serene for Dad

Give Dad the tools to create a serene space! Our expert nursery staff can help you pick out some trees or shrubs for Dad that you can plant together as a family activity! Or give Dad a hand and schedule a planting! Ask our experts for details and then let Dad sit back and enjoy the view.

Our knowledgeable staff will help you pick out the perfect gift for Dad. Maybe it’s a unique perennial grass or a new tree. The ideas are endless!

Gift Certificates

Stuck on what to give? Give Dad the opportunity to stroll through our nursery and greenhouses and pick out the plants and gifts that he enjoys! We offer gift certificates in any amount. Just ask our staff to make one up for you to present to Dad this Sunday.
